2023 - 2024   Season   Patrol  Information

As a lifeguard, you must complete a minimum of 20 patrol hours before Nationals. This can be achieved by doing 20 hours patrol or 15 hours patrol and 5 lifeguard training/development eg completing a First Aid course. Completing your minimum patrol hours is also required in order to compete in the Senior Competitive Sports events and competitions.

Part of being an active life saver is to ensure our patrols are covered for the safety of beach goers in the Hibiscus Coast Area especially at our flagged areas along Orewa and Wenderholm Beaches.

If you cannot attended your rostered patrol for any reason it is your responsibility to seek and confirm a replacement with the equivalent skills you hold (or higher), for the day of patrol you cannot attend.

Patrolling our beach with the correct ratio of personel is part of our patrol agreement with the SLSNZ and SLSNR, if we do not cover all patrols, Orewa Surf Life Saving Club will be in breach of our contract agreement. If in breach OSLSC can be fined and we can have our competition rights revoked for any upcoming events.

These members have been appointed as ‘sign off’ tutors for the practical section of refreshers. Please see one of them to complete your practical component. Theory is all done online as previously advised.
