Orewa Surf Life Saving Club take  home Northern Region Pool Champs Title

Orewa SLSC swimmers again showed their skills in at The National Aquatic Centre in Mairangi Bay last weekend, 1-2 September 2018. Teams across all age groups, juniors, open and masters have been training hard for this event, the first on the season calendar. The results showed the effort that has gone into this from all angles, swimmers, coaches managers and parents.

Junior Surf won their section by an outstanding margin, sometimes taking all 3 placings in one race. The young members can be very proud of their results with many NZ pool records being broken. The masters section was also won by Orewa SLSC closely followed by Piha in second place. The masters area is increasing every year with many parents returning to surf after years away.  Orewa’s senior division finished second in their section adding to the total points to place Orewa SLSC in first place overall.  See finals points here.

The Surf Life Saving NZ Pool Rescue Champs is the next big event on the calendar for the club, 12 – 14 October 2018 at The National Aquatic Centre in Mairangi Bay. We look forward to great day of racing in the pool.
