Surf Life Saving New Zealand

Surf Life Saving New Zealand is the national body representing the 75 Surf Life Saving Clubs and nine Districts in New Zealand. We are the largest water safety education provider in New Zealand.

Our Mission: To prevent death and injury on New Zealand beaches

To achieve our mission we have a proactive beach safety strategy made up of a broad public education campaign and surf life saving patrols.

To support our lifeguard on the beach we provide training and development opportunities and a national SurfSports programme. We have a national framework of lifeguard and SurfSports accreditation.

As a not for profit, essential service our income is sourced from Commercial Sponsors, New Zealand Lottery Grants Board, Gaming Grants (Pokie machines), and fund raising. We distribute funding and equipment to support our Clubs and Districts.
